CT/Radiology Technician PRN - Radiology

CT/X-Ray Technologist

Employment type: PRN

Shift: Days with overnight on-call

Schedule: Typically, 7 on 7 off (Wed-Tue) local staff housing provided

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and versatile CT/X-Ray Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing CT scans and X-rays, as well as ensuring high-quality diagnostic images for accurate patient diagnosis and treatment. This position requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care and safety. The candidate must be able to take directions from the Radiology Director and Physicians. Additionally, this position includes after-hours on-call with a maximum 20-minute response time. Employees that are not local are offered a room at our staff housing for the duration of their scheduled days to be available to cover calls and eliminate the need for travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Perform CT scans and X-rays according to established protocols and procedures.
2. Respond to after-hours on-call needs promptly when needed.
3. Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
4. Operate imaging equipment, including adjusting settings and selecting appropriate techniques to obtain optimal images.
5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including proper handling of equipment and radiation.
7. Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on imaging equipment.
8. Provide clear instructions and explanations to patients regarding imaging procedures.
9. Capable of performing general MRI exams (a plus).
10. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and License:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field.
Valid Texas Medical Board license
Valid ARRT certification

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience:

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting, with proficiency in CT and X-ray procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works indoors in an air-conditioned environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent use of computers and phones, as well as other standard office machines. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, push, pull using proper body mechanics and move/lift varying amounts of weight to a maximum of 50 lbs.
